3. Usage Terms

3.1 Account Creation

• Users may create an account using email and password
• Optional Google Sign-In authentication is available
• Users must provide accurate information during registration
• Each user is responsible for maintaining account security

3.2 Free Service

• Giftastic is currently provided free of charge
• Users can create unlimited gift lists and items
• No subscription required for current features
• All core functionality is available at no cost

3.3 Future Paid Features

• If paid features are introduced, users will be notified in advance
• Free users will retain access to basic features
• Paid users will receive access to premium features
• Subscription terms will be clearly disclosed before purchase

4. User Rights and Restrictions

4.1 Permitted Uses

• Create and manage your own gift lists
• Share lists with friends, family, etc
• Add items from any website using the auto-fill feature
• Mark items as purchased on shared lists
• Download and export your gift list data
• Use the service for personal or commercial gift coordination

4.2 Prohibited Uses

• Sharing account credentials or attempting to bypass authentication
• Creating fake or fraudulent gift lists
• Using the service for spam, harassment, or malicious purposes
• Attempting to access other users' private data
• Reverse engineering or attempting to extract the app's code
• Using the service in violation of applicable laws
• Uploading copyrighted images without proper authorization
• Attempting to overload or disrupt the service

4.3 Content Responsibility

• You are responsible for all content you create or upload
• You must have rights to any images or content you upload
• You agree not to upload offensive, illegal, or harmful content
• We reserve the right to remove inappropriate content

5. Shared Lists and Collaboration

5.1 Sharing Your Lists

• You control who can access your shared gift lists
• Anyone with your sharing link can view the list (if sharing is enabled)
• Recipients can mark items as purchased but cannot edit the list
• You can disable sharing at any time
• Only unpurchased items are visible to protect privacy

5.2 Viewing Shared Lists

• You can view shared lists without creating an account
• Creating an account allows you to save shared lists and track purchases
• Your purchase history is tracked for list owners
• You can remove shared lists from your "Shared with Me" section

5.3 Purchase Tracking

• When you mark an item as purchased, this information is visible to the list owner
• Your name or identifier may be shown to the list owner
• Purchase information helps prevent duplicate gifts
• List owners can track who purchased which items

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

• You retain all rights to your gift lists, items, and uploaded content
• You grant us a license to store and display your content for app functionality
• You can export or delete your data at any time
• We do not claim ownership of your content

6.2 Our Content

• Giftastic retains all rights to the app, design, and technology
• Our trademarks, logos, and branding are protected
• The user interface and functionality are proprietary
• Third-party content (icons, fonts) may be subject to their own licenses

6.3 License to Use

• We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the App
• This license is for personal and commercial gift management
• You may not redistribute, modify, or create derivative works
• This license terminates when you stop using the service

7. Data and Privacy

• Your gift lists, items, and account information are stored securely
• We use Firebase for data storage and authentication
• Your data is used to provide and improve the service

• We use Firebase Security Rules to protect your data
• Access to your lists is controlled by sharing settings

7.3 Data Export and Deletion

• You can export your gift lists through the app
• You can delete your account at any time
• Account deletion permanently removes your data
• Shared lists become inaccessible after account deletion

11. Liability and Warranties

11.1 Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Successful delivery of sharing links
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Suitability for your specific purposes
• Accuracy of item prices or availability
• Security of third-party websites linked in gift items
• Compatibility with all devices or browsers

11.2 Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

• Data loss or corruption
• Loss of gift lists or items
• Service interruptions or failures
• Issues with third-party integrations (Google Sign-In, Firebase)
• Problems with shared lists or collaboration features
• Incompatibility with your device or browser
• Force majeure events beyond our control
• Consequential, special, punitive, exemplary, or incidental damages

11.3 Maximum Liability

• Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months (currently $0 for free service)
• We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages
• This limitation applies to the fullest extent permitted by law

12. Termination

12.1 Your Rights

• You may terminate your account at any time
• You may delete your account through the app settings
• Upon termination, your access to the service will immediately cease
